VANDERBEEK FARM NOW OPEN FOR TRAILRIDES, BOARDING AND LESSONS
Vanderbeek Farm and Stables, founded in 2007, is now open for trail rides and riding lessons. Here, the Mancino Family shares their love of animals in a family friendly environment. Vanderbeek Farm provides an authentic equine experience to riders who are new to the world of horses as well as those seeking to advance their knowledge and ability. Vanderbeek Farm is excited to open their doors to the public.
The original owners of the farm, Garrett and Agnes Vanderbeek, moved their young family to Lackawaxen Township from the New York City area in the 1920s. It was here that they raised their four young children, Anna, Catherine, Harry and Samuel. Similarly, the Mancinos purchased Vanderbeek farm in the summer of 2007 as a respite from suburban life in Seaford, Long Island. In 2010, nearly 100 years after the Vanderbeeks left New York, the Mancinos followed in their footsteps, moving their family of five young children and their dog Brooke to the farm permanently. They are honored to carry on the tradition of the Vanderbeeks and to share a little bit of country living with their community.
Located just outside of downtown Hawley, Vanderbeek Farm offers trail rides through beautiful rolling fields, an open meadow, stream crossings, and through moss-covered forests. Family trail rides also include a lesson to prepare riders for an enjoyable excursion led by one of Vanderbeek's professional trail leaders. Riding upon their gentle-mannered and well-trained horses is a perfect family outing!
Vanderbeek Farm offers trail riding, lessons, boarding, horse training and other equine activities. There are two outdoor riding arenas. One is 100 X 200 and the other is 125 X 300. The indoor arena is a heated 80 X 220 state of the art facility for year round riding and stabling. This structure includes non-skid pavers throughout, boarder bathroom, 20-24 tack room, private lockers, lounge, heated wash stalls , Nelson automatic waterers, ceiling fans, and 24/7 security cameras which each boarder has remote access to. Vanderbeek's friendly and professional instructors look forward to sharing their knowledge with new and experienced riders alike.
Committed to the highest standards of health and care for animals, The Mancinos have taken in a number of rescued animals into their petting zoo. Their petting zoo is now home to two llamas, goats, sheep, mini-horses, pigs, chickens, and a donkey. These animals enjoy leisurely days wandering the vast meadows of the farm and passers-by always find joy in seeing the animals grazing from Route 590.
After five years in the making, Vanderbeek Farm and The Mancino Family are pleased to open their doors and welcome happy visitors to come and live the farm life for a day while enjoying the beauty of the land.
